Welcome to Dry Eye Basics. This course is intended to give the student a basic overview of tear anatomy, understand the current definition of dry eye disease and to understand basic testing methods to detect dry eye. Audience: Basic to Intermediate Level
At the end of the exam the student will be able to:
Identify the layers and function of the tear film
Define Dry Eye Disease based on most recent research
Perform clinical testing for dry eye patients
Understand the difference between subjective and objective testing methods
This course should take approximately 1 hour to complete.
This course is pending approval from the AOA Commission on Paraoptometric Certification (CPC) for continuing education credit for use toward paraoptometric certification renewal.
