Welcome to Eye-Courses.com Motility Made Easy. This curriculum is designed to introduce the student to the basics of identifying and measuring eye muscle movements in a clinical setting. For additional information on eye muscles please see our other courses on eye anatomy.
At the conclusion of the course the student will be able to:
- Name the six extraocular muscles and state their primary function
- Define phoria and tropia
- Define the terms of eye movement known as eso, exo, hyper and hypo
- List three methods for measuring motility
- Identify gross deviations using the Hirschberg method
- Describe the cover test methods
This course should take approximately 1 hour to complete.
This course has been approved by the AOA Commission on Paraoptometric Certification (CPC) for continuing education credit for use toward paraoptometric certification renewal.
