Course Overview

This course is intended for beginning and intermediate levels.

The student should be able to demonstrate the following concepts:

  • Define Eso, exo, hyper and hypo as they relate to eye movement
  • Define phoria and topia
  • List the 6 extraocular muscles
  • List 3 methods of measuring motility
  • Describe the steps involved in performing cover/uncover and cross cover test
  • Identify a phoria versus a tropia
  • Identify Hirschberg measurements of 30, 60, and 90 diopters from a photo
  • Describe which way each of the 4 rectus muscles will move the eye

This course should take approximately one hour to complete.

Upon
completion of this section the student will take a post-test
that will test his/her knowledge of the items mentioned above.
You must correctly answer at least 12 of the 15 questions on the open
book post test. If you do not successfully pass the post
test the first time you may try again at no expense to you.
